Karen Piper - vocals, originally from Rushville, Ohio, now resides in Delaware County. Throughout the years she has sung many genres of music, everything from American folk tunes to classical but truly enjoys singing the crowd favorites of Jazz, Standards, Pop, Movie Themes, and current country. After performing in various school groups while in high school and college, Karen’s first professional performance experience came from work with bands during the late 70’s. However, she left the performing circuit to spend time raising her family. During those years off, Karen continued to sing with choruses and established a quartet, which performed throughout Ohio for five years. She has also produced several musical shows and is sensitive for selecting the perfect music to add the right atmosphere to any event. Karen has a Bachelors degree from Capital University, Columbus. She studied choral music with the now director of the Lancaster Chorale and studied privately with Michelle Horsefield, noted Columbus Jazz instructor. When not singing, she teaches computer software as an independent consultant. She loves the beach, enjoys swimming and hanging out on the sand.
